People communicate with all their senses. The more senses you engage, the more impact you will have on a person. A website that uses visual and audio techniques will have a lasting impression. Would you use a television commercial that had no sound??

Audio makes it PERSONAL

Adding audio to your website creates a personal connection and bond between you and your customer. If you create a personal message directed specifically at your visitors, they will tend to feel more comfortable and at ease with your site, your business and with you.

Audio EXPLAINS Your Product or Service

You can use audio to explain your product or service and even your selling terms and return policy. Sometimes it is just a lot easier to explain what you sell or what you do as opposed to writing a lengthy description that may be passed over because it overwhelms your customers.

It Sets Your Site Apart from the Others

Face it, by adding audio to your web site you are setting your site apart from the others. In a vast Internet sea of websites that all sell the same products, offer the same services and they all pretty much look alike, adding audio gives your site an added punch. Audio will make your web site stand out and it will not easily be forgotten.

Just like most innovations, audio files will soon develop to standard usage on websites. Make sure you stay on the cutting edge of website development, add audio!
My son (then 10 years old) provided a most poignant example of how and why audio is the most effective and memorable medium.

He had an assignment to come into class the next day and tell a joke. So he came home and asked me (because I'm a funny guy).

Now, if you're like me you get dozens of jokes emailed to you every week. But try as I might, I couldn't recall one joke! And my friends send me a lot of really funny ones.

I remembered reading them... but I couldn't recall a single joke to repeat to him.
So I told him a joke I had heard at least a couple of years ago.

How did I remember a spoken joke from many months past yet couldn't recall the ones I had read that morning? Because I had heard (and seen) the joke... not just read it on a screen.

Is your message on your website memorable? Or is it just more words on a screen that we all seem to process and forget?

Take the test yourself. What's the last good joke you read? And what's the last good joke you heard?

If you're not using audio, you're not getting the most out of your web presence.

And that's no joke!
See how you do with this test...
If your website doesn't have audio ...what's it really saying?
